Robert Lewandowski: I’m very proud
"This really is something – Messi and Ronaldo have been playing at the highest level for years and now I’m rubbing shoulders with them. This means that all the hard work has paid off. I wouldn’t have achieved this without the team – they're the ones who create the situations for me. It'll take a while to absorb what I’ve achieved and I think I’ll struggle to get to sleep tonight. But I’m really happy. We’re all proud because it’s an award that recognises the whole team. To win an award after so many years as a Bayern player is really something special. It was a long time coming for the club. I hope that we can end up shaping an era in football. We’ve got good young players and we’re ready to step up and face big challenges and go on to win more titles. The team is functioning well and going in the right direction.

The Polish national team won against Bosnia and Herzegovina in the UEFA Nations League for the second time. In the match played in Wrocław, the White-and-Reds gave no chance to their rivals and scored three goals. Robert Lewandowski scored twice and Karol Linetty once. Three points gave our team a leading position in the group. "I am glad that our team is growing stronger. There is even more competition on individual positions. For me, it is another very important national team training camp," said head coach Jerzy Brzęczek after the match.

The evening in Wrocław, where the fourth match of the White-and-Reds in the UEFA Nations League was played, belonged to Robert Lewandowski. In its third match in the UEFA Nations League, the Polish national team was held to a goalless draw by Italy in Gdańsk. The White-and-Reds did not give in to Roberto Mancini's strong team, which caused the Polish players a lot of problems. However, they played very consistently in the back, they struck back a few times and stole points away from the front-runner of the group.
