WEEK WITH WOMEN'S TEAMS

As many as three Polish women's teams - U-17, U-19 and the national team – will play very important games this week. On 5th April, Wojciech Basiuk's players compete against Scotland in the World Cup qualifier. On Saturday, the U-19 team starts the qualifying competition to the final tournament of UEFA European Under-19 Championship. While, between 6th and 11th April, Polish under-17 team participates in the tournament which is a part of UEFA's Development Cup programme. 


The women's national team starts the World Cup qualifiers with the match against Scotland. Then, the white and red team plays the away game against the Faroe Islands (8th May) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (18th June). The Scots, who have a set of 12 points, are the leaders of Group 4 and the Poles come in third with 6 points. The second place belongs to Sweden.

Last year Polish U-17 team won the tournament being part of UEFA Development Cup which took place in Kielce. Back then the team led by coach Witkowski secured three victories: 2:1 against Norway, 5:0 against Denmark and 6:0 against Lithuania.

The first two meetings of the white and red team will take place in Sarlat La Caneda and the last competition is scheduled for Bergerac. Only the winners of the seven groups and the best of runner-up teams will advance to the final tournament.
