Jerzy Brzęczek: Our team is growing stronger and stronger

The Polish national team won against Bosnia and Herzegovina in the UEFA Nations League for the second time. In the match played in Wrocław, the White-and-Reds gave no chance to their rivals and scored three goals. Robert Lewandowski scored twice and Karol Linetty once. Three points gave our team a leading position in the group. "I am glad that our team is growing stronger. There is even more competition on individual positions. For me, it is another very important national team training camp," said head coach Jerzy Brzęczek after the match.

About the October national team training camp and three matches:

The last matches showed the direction we took two years ago. We will continue to work on developing this team. We have first place in the group in the Nations League, but it is important to remember that we have very difficult matches ahead of us. We will play an away match against Italy and a home match with the Netherlands. We have a group of people who form a team and have very strong foundations. I am glad that our team is growing stronger. For me, it is another very important national team training camp. Time, consistency and patience are important in team building. We are aware that there is still a long way to go. The competition on individual positions is increasing. We have a solid foundation that we have built up over two years of work and no storm is going to throw us off our goal.

About the match against Bosnia and Herzegovina:

It was a good match, but we must also take into account the conditions of this match. Our opponents were short of one man from the 15th minute. In the first fifteen minutes, our rival was doing very well, escaping the pressing. This match would certainly play out completely different if we didn't play with the advantage of one player. Words of appreciation to the boys for being consistent and creating shooting opportunities. We could have scored more goals in the first half but we did not manage to take our opportunities. In the second half, we made substitutions, and when new players enter the pitch, the team has to catch the right rhythm, which we did.

About young players in the team:

Naturally, young players bring freshness, competition, and imagination. I am glad that we have a young generation of players with great skills. The young players proved that they deserve a place in the national team. This makes me very happy. This training camp showed us how great the competition is. In recent days, it has definitely increased.
