GOALS FROM LEWY AND GROSIK EARNed PLACES IN FINALS
Tuesday evening was very successful for the representatives of Poland playing in the international leagues. The goals scored by Lewandowski for Borussia Dortmund and Kamil Grosicki for Rennais secured their clubs places in the finals of the national Cups.
Borussia Dortmund played VFL Wolfsburg for a spot in the DFB Cup final which will take place in Berlin's Olympiastadion on 17th May. Robert Lewandowski scored Dortmund’s second goal in the 43rd minute of the match with a wonderful strike which came of the underside of the bar, Dortmund held on to win the match 2-0. Borussia will meet Bayern Monachium in the DFB Pokal final, which is to be played on Saturday. The other semi-final between Bayern Monachium and 1. FC Kaiserslautern finished with a 5-1 victory for Bayern.
Kamil Grosicki's form has been impressive in recent weeks. The French Cup match between Stade Rennais and Angers was the second in the row in which Grosik scored a goal for his team. The team from Brittany defeated the second league team 3:2 and in the final of the Coupe de France they will play the winner of the match between Guingamp and Monaco.
It is worth remembering that a representative of Poland will also play in the final of the FA Cup. It is thanks to Łukasz Fabiański's excellent performance, who last month saved two penalties in the semi-final match with Wigan, Arsenal advanced to the final at Wembley.
