Orlen Ekstraliga Kobiet players undergo personal branding training

The winter break in the Orlen Ekstraliga Kobiet has seen the Women's Football Department of PZPN deliver a series of on-site training workshops. These sessions, focused on image building and personal branding in social media, involved approximately 250 players from the top flight.

This project is a response to the growing role of social media in sport and the necessity for players and Ekstraliga clubs to operate with greater strategic awareness.

Theory and practice: from knowledge to action

The training was structured into theoretical and practical modules. In the first part, players were introduced to principles and tips for building their social media image, as well as the benefits of maintaining a regular and authentic online presence. Discussion also covered the issues of responsibility and communication consistency, factors which directly impact the development of a sporting career. The practical phase allowed the players to translate their acquired knowledge into specific actions. Participants independently created video materials, including reels, while learning the techniques of filming, framing, and editing content tailored to the specific requirements of social media platforms.

"The players participated in the workshops with great commitment.  I am particularly pleased that the first clubs have already begun using the recorded content on their social media profiles, turning knowledge into real action," said Dorota Bień from Creative Media, the company responsible for delivering the training series.

Twelve clubs – a common goal

The project encompassed all Orlen Ekstraliga Kobiet clubs and presented a major logistical challenge, which was successfully met during the two-month winter break (accounting for the Christmas and New Year period).

"During the winter break, we managed to effectively coordinate this logistical challenge and visit every club, from Szczecin to Kraków. I am very pleased to see the first results of the training, both from the players and the clubs. Through these activities, the Orlen Ekstraliga Kobiet has the chance to become even more visible on social media. It is also worth highlighting the openness and hospitality of the clubs. Cooperation at every stage was of a very high standard," stated Bartłomiej Stolarz, Coordinator for Promotion and Competition Development at the Women's Football Department of PZPN.

The training sessions were conducted as part of the UEFA Women’s League Development Fund project, co-financed by the UEFA HatTrick VI programme. An additional element of each meeting was the distribution of a printed player handbook detailing rights and obligations. This PZPN-issued document provides comprehensive support for the informed planning and management of a football career.

"I will be watching the further progress of the clubs and players with great interest. I hope that social media will become an effective tool for them to both build their personal brands and strengthen the image of their clubs," added Dorota Bień.
