Adam Majewski signs new contract

The Polish Football Association has extended its contract with Adam Majewski, coach of the Polish national under-21 football team. The 51-year-old coach will lead the youth team in the next qualifiers for the European Championships, the finals of which will be held in Albania and Serbia in 2027.

"The extension of the contract with coach Adam Majewski is the result of our long-term strategy for youth national teams. The coach has done an excellent job, contributing to the development of the players, advancing with the team to the European Championships and achieving the set objectives. We appreciate his approach, commitment and way of working with young players. We believe that continuing this cooperation will bring further positive results. Now we are all focused on performing as well as possible at the European Championships in Slovakia,” said Marcin Dorna, Sporting Director of the Polish Football Association.

Adam Majewski took over as head coach of the U-21 national team in September 2023. In his first year in charge, the Polish team qualified for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship final tournament for the first time in the 21st century without having to go through the play-offs.

Today at 9:00 p.m., the Polish national team will play its first match in the tournament against Georgia in Žilina. The White and Reds will then face Portugal (June 14) and France (June 17) in the group stage.

After the end of the European Championship in June, coach Majewski will face another challenge – building a new team that will begin its struggle for promotion to the 2027 UEFA European Under-21 Championship in September. Poland's rivals in the qualifying group will be North Macedonia, Armenia, Montenegro, Sweden, and Italy.
