Marek Papszun: Great pride and happiness

"A very, very good evening," with these words, Raków coach Marek Papszun opened the press conference after his team won the Fortuna Polish Cup. The defending champions from Częstochowa won the final at PGE Narodowy against Lech Poznań 3-1.

"We have won the cup for the second time in a row and that's not an easy task. The team's performance was perhaps not perfect but it was close to perfect. They managed the match in an almost perfect manner. Today, they showed their the maturity and wisdom. My players performed brilliantly, they maintained the right mental level," Marek Papszun stressed. After this statement, the press conference was interrupted by Raków players, who entered the room with a cup in their hands, singing loudly, and then doused their coach with beer. They chanted his name as well.

"This was not planned," shouted the drenched coach and started singing along with the whole team. A moment later, he was already answering journalists' questions again. "We are very happy. We have a long and difficult night ahead of us. And there will be no time to relax later. Tomorrow, we go back to training and start preparing for the match against Cracovia. Today, we closed one chapter but league competitions are completely different. What happened here today will not matter. This is a whole different story. We know that we don't have to look at others and if we win all the matches until the end, we will win another trophy, that is the Polish Championship," concluded Marek Papszun.
