ONE YEAR TO GO PRESS CONFERENCE IS NOW BEHIND US! THE FINAL MATCH WILL BE HELD IN CRACOW!

The official One Year To Go press conference announcing next year's Under-21 European Championship in Poland was held at the Wisła Kraków Stadium just ahead of the last friendly match of the Polish national team before the EURO 2016 final tournament.


The meeting with media representatives which took place in Cracow was attended, among others, by the President of the Polish Football Association (henceforth PFA) Zbigniew Boniek, the PFA General Secretary Maciej Sawicki, the Tournament Ambassador Marek Koźmiński, the UEFA director of competitions Giorgio Marchetti and the Presidents of six tournament host cities in Poland.

During the press conference a match schedule for the final tournament was announced. We already know that the Polish national team led by Marcin Dorna will face its group stage opponents in Lublin (South-East Poland; 2 matches) and in Kielce (South central Poland). Semi-finals will be played on 27 June in Cracow and Tychy (southern Poland), and the final is to be held on 30 June, 2017 at the Marshal Józef Piłsudski Stadium in Cracow (henceforth Cracovia Stadium).

The 2017 final tournament in Poland will consist of an expanded pool of 12 teams. This pool involves the nine group winners, the two play-off winners and the Polish national team, who qualify automatically as hosts. The 12 sides are divided into three groups of four. The teams will play once against each other in their section, with the three pool winners and the best runner-up qualifying for the semi-finals.

The 2017 UEFA U-21 European Championhip will begin on 16 June, 2017. The final matches of the whole tournament will be played in the six following Polish cities: Bydgoszcz, Gdynia, Kielce, Cracow, Lublin and Tychy. The final match is to be held on 30 June, 2017 at the Cracovia Stadium.

16 June, 2017, Lublin, the opening match

19 June, 2017, Lublin, 2nd group stage match

22 June, 2017, Kielce, 3rd group stage match
