Grosicki: We have a great tournament ahead of us. Mental training is very important

We already feel that this big event is approaching. We meet a lot of supporters asking for autographs and photos outside the hotel or while going for a training. It's nice that we can give them some joy. Yesterday, hundreds of fans filled the entire stadium in Arłamów to watch our open training session. It confirmed that football is the most important sport in our country. Polish national team has made a comeback and is popular again and I am really glad because of that - said at the press conference the Polish national team winger Kamil Grosicki.

- Yesterday we played 20-minute training game on a smaller pitch. I think every player likes small-sided games during training sessions, but we fully understand that now our preparation schedule will not involve many of these games, because it is time for exercises which are more intense. In the end, our goal is to be fully prepared for the European Championships in France. The atmosphere in the team is very good. Let's just hope that in the coming days there will be no injuries - good health, that's really important - said Grosicki, who during Tuesday's practice session was performing even rabonas.

- It was an open practice session for the public and media so I got into the swing of doing tricks  - joked Kamil. - But to be honest, I do not do anything for show. On the pitch you usually have to make a split second decision. I picked Arek Milik out with my cross so that he could score. This idea failed. Anyway, if I will have such an opportunity once again, and I will be sure that it can be good for the whole team, I will try to do this again. I'm not afraid - he added.

- There are phone calls and SMS messages. It is hard for us to cut off contact with media. I respect that, I know that's your job, but please, remember, I am here in Arłamów to prepare myself for EURO 2016. I do my best during training sessions and then I want to rest. I need peace and quiet. We had time for other activities in Jurata - Grosicki said, underlining at the same time that June's friendly matches against Netherlands and Lithuania planned as a final test ahead of the tournament will be very important.

- We have to show what we can deliver. Just after these friendly meetings, the coach will make up his mind - Grosik admitted. The player also has claimed that mental preparation is just as important as physical preparation - Mentality is very important. I am working with a mental sports coach Paweł Frelik who has already taught me a lot. I already know how to behave in different situations, so now we have less homework to do, but certainly I'd like to meet him again two or three times before the final tournament. I hope Paweł will help me ahead of this great event - Kamil smiled.

Our best referee Szymon Marciniak has joined the Polish team today. The referee will meet the players and share his knowledge on new laws in football which will come into effect before the tournament in France. - Mr. Marciniak will give us a lot of information about new laws that we will have to have in mind. I am an offensive player, I try neither to commit fouls nor to provoke an opponent's foul, or to simulate, but I am eager to find out what the rule changes include and what we may expect from the referees in France - Kamil Grosicki.ended
